Evaluation Process
At Thrive we now offer comprehensive diagnostic evaluations completed by expert level practitioners. Our team is led by Dr. Jessica Emick, licensed pediatric clinical psychologist, who specializes in comprehensive neurodevelopmental evaluations for young children and providing support to parents of children with autism.
At the time of your call, a Thrive care team member will gladly schedule an intake assessment with Dr. Jessica to determine what assessments will be completed as part of your child’s evaluation (psychology/speech/OT). Testing is completed in our premiere early intervention setting where children will be welcomed to explore and play throughout the assessment. We offer the availability to reserve our center for evaluation appointments on days when our students are not in session, so that the evaluation can be completed in a quiet setting where your child will feel comfortable and calm.
Thrive offers a flat rate for diagnostic assessments and provides a superbill to submit to your insurance company for out of network reimbursement after the evaluation is complete. A Thrive team member will be happy to check your insurance benefits for you so there are no surprises when it comes to out of pocket expenses.
Gifted Identification Testing
Parents are often the first to recognize that their child has some sort of unique ability. However, it can be hard to determine how to best support your child’s development.
If you have reason to believe that your child might be gifted, it’s time to take a closer look at your child’s strengths and weaknesses and discuss educational and evidence based strategies to promote their holistic development.
Dr. Emick provides comprehensive gifted testing and evaluations of children and adolescents, ages 3 through 18 with special expertise in twice exceptionality. Dr. Emick custom tailors all of our assessments to the specific needs of your child.
